Zooooooooo

Photobucket

Saturday Sam and I went to the Oregon Zoo and saw some animals, ate an Elephant ear*, and had fun in a photobooth. The darn thing shows your reflection on a screen before it takes the picture, and I can honestly say it's the most unflattering thing ever (think when Liz Lemon walks in front of the HD camera). Luckily the photos themselves turned out nice.

And we morphed into Polar Bears halfway through.

Oh and I wore a fringe vest. Because I've always loved fringed vests, and you really only live once.

*I think Elephant ear is a regional thing, it's just flat dough fried and slathered in butter, sugar, and cinnamon. Super healthy.

We went to the Oregon Zoo when visiting Portland and loved it too...though I think your wingspan is more than mine!

Didn't realize they sold Elephant Ears (that's what we call them too, but Wyoming isn't that far from OR).

You look SUPER cute in that vest.

Elephant ears aren't a regional delicacy. They're a delicious common fair food, similar to a funnel cake; we have them here in the Southeastern US.

elephant ears are just called fried dough here on the east coast. i like your name though! and you look amazing, as always :)

Great pictures! Love your blog. Here in Canada, this type of pastry is called a Beaver tail!! Didn't know it existed elsewhere :P

pamenlow, yes I realize the type of food exists elsewhere, but the name name and sometimes form of it is regional.

Laurie, that is a really cute name for it!

We went a few weeks back. I bet that hippo was in the same spot we left it when you got there.

Great boots. I've been looking for something like them.

Elephant ears sound delicious! I loved the fringe vest. I had a fringed top back in the 1990s. It was black and white striped. Terrible! Yours is so much better

Far out! Its great that you have a sweet spot for the oh so groovy 1970s. The fringe vest makes me think of what Sonny and Cher wore back then.
A thought it sure would be out of sight to see your love for the 1970s and casual wear.

I myself have a sweet spot for the 1960s. I plan on going 1960s on my casual days. Thanks for the neat-o idea (1930s-1940s is my normal everyday wear).

All the best,

Nathalie
