I learned to bake pies specifically because of Pushing Daisies, but have never tried a Gruyere crust. Bravo! Also a good excuse to wear a cute apron.
Oh, I always thought that sounded absolutely delicious but never thought to actually make it myself! I think I might wait until autumn though...? It's really cherry and strawberry time right now. Particularly cherry... And, now talking about pie is having the reverse effect and making me think about awesome TV shows, but this time it's Twin Peaks!

Um... yes! I always wanted to try one after hearing about that particular pie on Pushing Daisies. Man, I miss that show.
What a fun bit of serendipity. I just stumbled across your blog and was looking at your lovely photos when I saw this recipe. RANDOMLY, I made this same exact recipe for Christmas last year, and it was a big hit. I miss Pushing Daisies! It just wasn't the same after it came back after the writer's strike.
